Doodling and drawing to Graphic Design

Rupinder Singh is a passionate graphic designer from India. He graduated in Media Science from NSHM School of Media and Communication with specialization in Advertisement and Public Relations. Rupinder works freelance and runs a design blog 365 Concepts where he shares his latest projects and inspirations.

My interest in graphic designing began back in my childhood days, when I was fascinated by the amazing world of design. I used to check magazine covers, movie posters and print advertisements and always wondered how they came up with such interesting ideas and designs. Doodling and drawing were always in my list of hobbies. One of my earliest rendezvous with art and design was at the age of 5, when I was awarded by the certificate of merit in ‘All-India Camel Colouring Contest, 1992’.

Along the way I realized that graphic designing is the most effective and powerful way of expressing ideas, thoughts and views.

Fontfabric launched another high quality font for free. HERO is applicable to any type of graphic design – web, print, motion graphics etc and perfect for t-shirts and other items like posters and logos.

Fontfabric is an independent type foundry that was launched in 2008 by Sofia, Bulgaria based designer Svetoslav Simov.

Arabic calligraphy and logotypes by Wissam Shawkat

Wissam Shawkat has been passionate about calligraphy since the early age. Originally from Iraq, he now lives in Dubai, UAE. Wissam is a Civil Engineer by profession from Basra University where he completed his degree in 1996. His unique style, inspired from the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional practitioners and the vibrancy of contemporary culture, demonstrates a deep understanding of the medium in a very refreshing way.

Wissam not only earned a name in traditional and contemporary calligraphy art but in logotype design as well with over 20 years of experience within advertising and branding with well-known clients. Wissam’s calligraphy artwork is included in many private and public collections throughout the world and has appeared in numerous books and publications. He has participated in many local and international exhibitions and won many awards. His work resonates with a wide range of audiences and testifies to the fact that calligraphy knows no boundaries.
