CodeGuard by Epipheo Studios

Under - Media, Technology

Just came across CodeGuard, a free website backup and file integrity monitoring service, through Cloudflare apps page. Apart from the awesomeness of this free service (and of course Cloudflare’s) one thing that I particularly liked is their introductory video by Epipheo Studios. Think it is one of those ‘kinda spontaneous’ videos that you are going to remember for long and may want to watch over and over again.

Excellent job guys and wish if you don’t cost a fortune to hire!

FUTURE SELF

Under - Art, Inspiration, Media, Technology

FUTURE SELF studies human movement, mirroring interaction in dance, light and sound, while exploring the self, present and future.

FUTURE SELF brought together a media artist collective, rAndom International, a choreographer, Wayne McGregor, and a composer, Max Richter in a unique interdisciplinary clash at MADE. The FUTURE SELF Project Film documents the creative working process, which began in London, England, continued in Berlin and culminated in three wonderful performances at MADE.

My inbox is my timeline …

Under - My Musings, Technology

While sifting through some old emails I realized that my inbox reflects most of my life – it is indeed my true timeline not what I made-up on Facebook!

I’ve been using Yahoo email since 1998 and Hotmail since 1996 if remember correctly (though I don’t get to use it much now) – both have documented my life ever since. I can see myself growing – my first job interview email, my appointments, meetings, plans, disappointments, happy moments … my conversations with my wife, and family, and friends. What I purchased/sold/owned or talked about over time. What I liked and shared and how I expressed my frustrations on numerous occasions. I can see my life recorded there, it is a real snapshot of my life albeit not that visual.

To Hotmail and Yahoo, you certainly missed something you always had with you!

Leica M Monochrom – exclusively for black and white photography

Under - Industrial Design, Photography, Technology

As a photographer if colors always bothered you then this is something to consider seriously! Leica recently announced the arrival of their much-awaited black and white exclusive camera Leica M Monochrom. With a price tag of just US $8000 (body only) one can be sure to produce masterpieces – or may be not!

In Leica’s words:

Countless iconic black-and-white photographs have been shot with the legendary cameras of the Leica M-System.

So it was time for a camera to continue this tradition and finally make it possible to deliver authentic monochrome photography in digital form: the Leica M Monochrom. It is the first full-frame, 35 mm format digital camera to be designed exclusively and without any compromises for black-and-white photography. It delivers ‘true’ black-and-white images in unrivalled sharpness and dynamic range. This makes the M Monochrom the perfect camera for anyone with a passion for black-and-white photography.

All the technical mumbo-jumbo aside it does seem to produce quality result hence justifying it’s price (to some). Below are some select images produced by Leica M Monochrom.

Galapagos – through the lens of iPhone 4S

Hard to believe that this small short by Miguel Endara is done through iPhone 4s! A brilliant device for capturing video but even more brilliant the person behind who used it in such a way.

Thoroughly impressed with the quality and stability of the iPhone 4S. Video briefly documents the amazing 2 week honeymoon/adventure in the Galapagos with the lovely wife, Lily Vidal.
