Young and ambitious

Under - Art, Inspiration, Photography

Julia Wang is a 16 year old bokeh, life, and color obsessed artist who enjoys dabbling in the surreal and soft qualities of light. Living in a small town in New Jersey, this young artist has a dream and lifelong passion to travel the world and document the lives of people, culture, and diversity.

I picked up my first DSLR in January of 2009 and I am head over heels in love. I would consider myself self taught, seeing as I’ve never taken a photography course. The internet is my teacher, my friend, my inspiration. A lot of people like to call themselves visionaries with unique visions of beauty, but I just call myself just a regular girl with a passion for taking photos of life on Earth and the people I love.

I Write
I write, I erase
I learn, I forget
I live, I learn
I love, I hate
I come, I go
I sleep, I wake
I do, I am.

Fund and follow creativity on Kickstarter

Under - Art, Design, Industrial Design, Inspiration, Resources, Technology

Obtaining seed money to launch a business has always been challenging, but, with a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter things are changing. Founded by Yancey Strickler and Perry Chen, this New York based company helps people realize their creative dreams and ambitious endeavors.

Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Every month, tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.

A new form of commerce and patronage. This is not about investment or lending. Project creators keep 100% ownership and control over their work. Instead, they offer products and experiences that are unique to each project.

All or nothing funding. On Kickstarter, a project must reach its funding goal before time runs out or no money changes hands. Why? It protects everyone involved. Creators aren’t expected to develop their project without necessary funds, and it allows anyone to test concepts without risk.

I covered one of the record funding on kickstarter few weeks back, below is another successful projects from their 2010 Kickstarter Award.

More London…

Under - Art, Inspiration, My Musings, Photography, Photolog

A top-up to my existing London photography collection … mostly in colors this time. Those of you who have explored London would know how beautiful the hour-long walk is from Westminster Bridge till Tower Bridge or the other way round. There’s so much to capture that I wouldn’t be wrong to call it one of the most photographed part of London. There are also ferry services that operate in-between these two bridges providing another view of the same stretch.

You can view the complete set at Flickr.
