A Moment with Liza - Oil on panel
Art is great when it is inviting and engaging, when it speaks to you – it needs to be more than a pretty picture! I especially like it when it is infused with cultures, experiences, stories and with realities. When it thrives on originality, bearing marks of personalities and personal touches. Lucong’s work is exactly that. I couldn’t escape from it when I skimmed ‘A Moment with Liza’. It told me to sit still and stare it, experience it. I immediately wanted to know the person behind it!

Lucong’s subjects, environments, arrangement of elements, colour pallet, strokes, textures, study of physical features, and selection of moods create a unique blend of emotions. It lured me and I’m tempted to praise it. Good art does exactly the same to mind that music to soul and food to body. We need to survive and we need excellent work.
